Xc60 The Future Design Direction Of Volvo

Volvo Fords Swedish luxury brand has earlier introduced a new sport utility vehicle that marks the beginning of a new design concept that would be employed for future Volvo cars. Steve Mattin Volvo Cars Design Director said that the car represent the DNA of future Volvos. He further stated Were about to elevate Volvos DNA to new levels by pumping up the volume. It takes the emotion of the C30 a step further.”

The XC60 that made its debut at the recently held North American International Auto Show in Detroit was said to exude brand new styling and design that reflects the forthcoming lineup of the automaker.

The XC60 is an addition to the SUV lineup of Volvo. Its features include a glass roof mechanical tailgate 20inch rims new shifting mechanism and newly styled grille. Its large Volvo logo has also made it look bolder and meaner. As an added feature it was given a distinct rear end to further emphasize the tailgate and the Volvo logo.

This is precisely what Steve Mattin meant when he said If you can recognize a Volvo from 50 meters today I want to get to the point where people will be able to spot one from twice the distance in the future. We need to be recognizable as Volvo. We’re still about Scandinavian simplicity; we can’t be playful or do styling for the sake of styling. Volvos last a long time so our design must have legs. But we can’t be too simple or we’d edge toward blandness. And we can’t just change; we must be fresh. I want to broaden our design and have more variation between car lines.”

Volvo Car President Fredrik Arp has also added that the XC60 is likely to become the C30 owners next car. Arp also added that the production version of the SUV would be very much identical to the concept. Mattin said that XC60 was designed like a giant iPod.

The BMW power steering pump on the other hand is the device which will transform the power from the engine into hydraulic pressure. This hydraulic pressure will enable you to easily turn the wheel in the desired direction. Basically the system is driven by the engine which will generate pressure in a rotaryvane pump and the faster your vehicle is going the more pressure is generated. Of course there is also a valve which will relief the system if the pressure goes too high. This valve prevents from damages and also it controls the pressure to be in the necessary values that are still big enough for the system to work properly.
We were talking about some high voltage and now let us discuss for a moment how this high voltage is distributed to for example your ignition system. If your BMW car is old enough you will see that it uses a BMW distributor cap. This cap is usually plastic and it is used to wire up devices and insure a way for the high voltage to safely pass through. Of course there are many problems that can surely damage your BMW car and for example the first major problem is the water. As you may know the water conducts electricity well enough especially when the voltage of that electricity is high enough. This in our case is really bad because you have to be very careful not to allow any water to go even near the distributor cap.
You will see that with time some cracks begin to occur on every plastic material especially if the temperature of it is changing. If you see cracks on your distributor cap you will need to change it. This is easy and you can do it yourself. However because of these problems with the cap you may want to get a BMW car with DIS or distributorless ignition systems. The only problem there will be that they are a bit more complicated and you will most likely be unable to change it yourself if you are not an expert.
Now lets dive in some mechanics. Vibrations when big enough can cause some problems with your BMW car and will surely make you feel not at ease.
